Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his distinctive blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B and R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine was born Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by performing on the piano as well as singing in the church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her education within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You an exclusive house 12 that was released exclusively in Japan; it has since been remixed by a variety of producers and remains a mainstay of her live set. Her voice was also added on the soundtrack to The Fighting Temptations. She was named the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls a theatre production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally in her four performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during the President's 2008 inaugural.
